How to protect fruit on trees from insects?

I have a pomegranate tree at home. Wshen it gets fruits, ants destroy pomegranate. How to protect it? Do you have any cheap solution to it? This tree is in Pakistan

Reply:I agree with the first answer. In the USA, each county has an agricultural extension agent who has lots of information about gardening, pests, and control of pests. You should be able to find the address and telephone number in the Yellow Pages.





I've grown pomegranates in south Texas but never had a problem with ants. It could be you have an animal like a raccoon that is damaging the fruit followed by ants taking advantage of the break in the skin of the fruit. You could get tangle-foot from a plant nursery and paint it on the main stems of the plant to stop the ants from crawling up the stems.
