I've been making my own shampoos, bath bars, hand sanitizers, air freshners, laundry detergent and bread. Also, I have in my little one fourth acre lot: 2 peach, 2 plum, 3 papaya, 1 fig, 1 Mexican Lime and 1 pomegranate tree; 1 Grapevine; 3 cantaloupe, 3 watermelon vines; and am harvesting from my 9 big tomato, 9 cherry tomato, 6 jalapeƱo, 6 bell pepper, 3 squash, and 6 string beans plants. Last week, I harvested all of my 65 sweet corn plants! Phew! Now THAT'S a stress reliever to the disbelief of some. LOL
How do you cope with rising costs of living?
I grow all of my own vegetables too. Canning and freezing saves me so much money in the winter it isn't even funny.
I like to garden and yes, feel it is very much worthwhile and a great stress reducer too.
A 5 pd bag of potatoes never went below $4 here all winter. I had enough potatoes to last us until the end of march, and all it cost me was for the seed potatoes that spring. $3
