POM is so expensive, as are the other brands I found at Whole Foods and such. Wondering if any smaller type stores would carry offshore brands.
Is there an inexpensive source of pomegranate juice?
The pomegranate is a very expensive fruit ($2.49 for one at Whole Foods last time I went), and the only edible part is the seeds. You get the juice from the seeds, which means that, per fruit, you get very little juice. Expensive fruit + hardly and juice = really expensive juice. I%26#039;d imagine that if there were any imported juices they%26#039;d be just as pricey, if not more so. The good news is that the power of %26quot;antioxidants%26quot; is over-hyped pseudoscience, and the health claims of pomegranate juice are just an advertising ploy. If you like it for the taste, though, you%26#039;re out of luck you can%26#039;t get it cheap.
Reply:Old Orchard %26amp; Northland both make pomegranate juice that%26#039;s shall we say...not inexpensive, but not as expensive.
Reply:look in the liquor store for grenadine. not sure how expensive it is but thats what greandine is. its a syrup not a juice so that might not help
