How can I use Pomegranates?

I had been hearing about pomegranates and decided that it would be fun to try one. I know how to open it and all that, but was looking for some good ways to use it. What kind of recipes would be good?

Reply:well you can use the seeds in a salad, use as a covering for icecream and some cakes, puddings, and even in jello.....use with some pork dishes...and even be daring and use with some firm flakey white fish...????? experimintation is the fun part of cooking.....
Reply:Pomegranate juice like %26quot;Pom%26quot; is great mixed with Kettle One vodka for a killer drink, or you could even make a vinagrette out of it, and its great on a spinach salad with walnuts, gorganzolla cheese, and apple chips. Or you could even put it in a pan over low heat and reduce the juice until you get a light syrup and brush that over a pork tenderloin.
Reply:If you take the seeds out of the pomegrantes, being careful to take out all the pith, then boil the seeds for about one hour, then place the seeds in a colander, and put the collander in another bowl, and take a wooden spoon and scrap the seeds against the collander allowing the juices and insides of the seeds to collect in the bowl. Then you have a moderately thick liquid that is good mixed half anf half with 7-Up. I really like it. My parents had a house in San Diego that had a pomegrante tree and we enjoyed this jucie year round. But you have to make sure to get all the pith out or it will be VERY bitter!
