I have never seen a tree I didn%26#039;t like, but my favorite is a weeping willow, they grow like weeds, you can weave the willow branches into baskets or fix furniture or make wreaths, they are graceful and lovely in all seasons, and they regenerate so easily. We have a 127 year old willow tree in our yard, (it was planted by the farm owners when the house was built). A few years ago, we had a heavy windstorm, and almost a third of the tree came down, and it has completely filled itself back in, plus we realized all we had to do to grow new ones was stick live fallen branches in the ground and they grow! We now have about 15 willows scattered among our four acre yard, and we love them. The big old magestic one is doing well, and our %26quot;young%26quot; trees are providing shade and beauty at three years.
On our daily walks, our beagle has a couple of %26quot;favorite trees%26quot; to rest and play under, and we usually sit there once the ground warms up and just enjoy the sunshine, I weave little wreaths for him to chew on, for the bunny to eat, and make little woven bird feeders (smear with peanut butter and roll in birdseed). I think there is nothing as peaceful as watching a willow %26quot;go with the wind%26quot;.
I also love old maples and oaks that lined the streets in my hometown. The branches grew into one another, and provided shade, zillons of leaves to play in, and a canopy over the roads.
My favorite tree is the pomegranate tree. What is your favorite type of tree?
