How long does it take a pomegranate to get bushy and produce fruit? The one I just planted is only 3 .....?

little twenty inch long stems... just wondering.. I know there are alot of differentials with climate and soil, but lets assume my soil is perfect for them and the climate too...

The pomegranate may begin to bear in 1 year after planting, but 2-1/2 to 3 years is more common. Under suitable conditions the fruit should mature some 5 to 7 months after bloom.
Reply:I took cuttings from a neighbors plant and put them in the ground. they are 2 years old now, about 8 feet tall and had 3 or 4 fruits on them this summer. i would guess that at about 3 years they should bear some fruit. i am in south texas.
Reply:I would sell year old potted Poms frequently with fruit on them although small and sparse.
Reply:It takes a couple of years before the bush/tree is mature enough to produce decent fruit.
