How does the juice marketed by POM (pomegranate & ascai) compare to Monavie?

The Monavie costs about $45 per bottle and the POM product is available for about $9 for the same quantity.

How does the juice marketed by POM (pomegranate %26amp; ascai) compare to Monavie?
I have recently had to do some research both into Pom and Monavie and last week submitted an answer on Answers to a questioner

who asked about Monavie. You can find it if you go to my profile. There is a lot of hype on sites by promoters of Monavie but nothing to clinically back up any of the claims. Even a spokesperson(therefore on it%26#039;s payroll) for it Earl Mindell, R.Ph., M.H., PhD. in his book, %26quot;Goji: The Himalayan Health Secret%26quot; spouts all sorts of claims and nothing is substantiated by any placebo-controlled double bind clinical trials and in fact any clinical research or valid studies. Also as you will see in my answer, 9 shipments of the berries from China have been refused by FDA in the last 3 years because of unacceptable levels of pesticides (e.g., cypermethrin, dicofol, pyridaben, and triadimenol). You can buy lycium berries (Lycium barbarum) in bulk herb stores at $7-$10 a pound. Good quality lycium berries are the same stuff that is sold as goji for a far higher price. The bulk of the selling price is because it%26#039;s a MLM (multi-level marketing) - a legal pyramid scheme. The manufacturer of the POM hinted in ads that the drink could fight heart disease, premature aging, Alzheimer%26#039;s disease, and cancer. An advertising industry watchdog group ruled those claims misleading. POM is regarded as a better product and they have invested millions of $%26#039;s in research and have had some positive results. However, more carefully controlled studies are needed to confirm them. (search Google for sites) Marketing is different hence the price is kept more reasonable. However, as recently seen, it%26#039;s public image is soiled because of horrendously cruel lab experiments on some animals. You can buy Naked Juice, Frutzzo, Old Orchard, and Lakewood, make delicious and healthy 100 percent pomegranate juice without harming a single animal.
Reply:Don%26#039;t know much difference but I do know that POM was just hit by Peta because they kill animals in their testing of their product. It is horrible what they did and still do. Check it out on peta.org.
Reply:Yes, it%26#039;s a GR8 DVD!
Reply:Monavie is a total rip off !!! With that said, you should only purchase through companies with credible, non-fabricated, non-exaggerated, non-borrowed research. Unless a company can produce research where their supplements are SPECIFICALLY credited (and not eluded to) and that the data is placebo-controlled, double-blind, cross-over, peer-reviewed and then published in a prestigious medical or nutriceutical journal (e.g. Baylor College of Medicine, Georgetown University, American College of Cardiology, etc.), then it%26#039;s nothing more than conjecture and hype - and oftentimes from some doctor who%26#039;s %26quot;on the payroll%26quot;. From a comparative standpoint, you may wish to peruse www.RealJuicePlus.com You%26#039;ll thoroughly enjoy the education. Plus, they have a great free DVD on nutrition...just for the asking! Irrespective of the product, as credible as it is, the DVD is a wealth of information on eating right.
