Great Cocktails?
I've got the whole house to myself this weekend (woohoo!) and so I'm definitely going to have some "Me-time" and relax. I was at the store today and they had a great deal on strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. I've got some Grenadine in the fridge (pomegranate juice), and I've also got some fresh lemons and limes. What 'cocktails' can I make that taste very good and are easy to make? Please provide recipes. Just please keep in mind that I am a minor (I'm 16) so I cannot have alcoholic beverages of any kind so DON'T put booze in it!

Is there any other juice besides cranberry juice that can prevent and treat UTIs?
I know that 100% cranberry juice can and does help treat urinary tract infections, but I hate the bitter taste! I know that drinking cranberry juice with sugar and from concentrate like Ocan Spray isn't as helpful as the organic kind, so I don't bother. BUt this brand of 100% juice not from concentrate that has no added sugar that I've tried also has this GREAT tasting blueberry-pomegranate juice. They also have blueberry-cran juice but that is not so great either. Is it ok to drink the blue-pom juice instead of cran juice? does it do the same things because of the great antioxidants in blueberries and pom? Or is there something else about cran that makes it work?

Be sure to look for raw, unfiltered, unpastuerized, organic ACV. Adjust the cocktail to taste, or simply mix with water (shake well first to mix the "mother" that settles at the bottom). I prefer Braggs(.com), although there are other manufacturers.

Anorexic Friend?
I think that a friend of mine is struggling with an eating disorder of some kind. She's always been a bit on the strange side, but she's usually a lot of fun to be around. Sometimes, though, she tends to darken and not really talk to anyone. This occurs mainly during times when others around her are eating food. Everyone suspects that she has anorexia, but she always tries to deny what's obvious. She's very skinny with rather large and bony joints. When we went out for lunch, all she had was a glass of pomegranate tea and told us that she had eaten a big breakfast and wasn't hungry. I'm worried about her health, but I don't want to butt in and act like a nosy control freak. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Merci beaucoup in advance!

But if something does happen to her or if she gets extremely ill, if you gave her support that is the best thing you can give her.
Most of all dont keep this to yourself! tell someone you will feel better and so will she

i am 14 weeks pregnant and i ve got a big fibroid (10 cm accross), on the outside of my uterus. the baby is fine for now. my doc says the fibroid could cause misacrriage.
now as much as i hate to think of such a possibility, it would be helpful to know if certain foods or herbs such as pomegranate can prevent miscarriage..
if i take less salty and spicy food will it stop the growth of the fibroid to some extent ?
and i ve been told to undergo a blood test that checks for down syndrome. is this test given to all carrying women or does fibroids have anything to do with down's syndrome ?
also beacuse of the fibroid, i ve had to undergo an ultrasound already and once more because my doc could not hear the baby with the doppler. and i am having one more next month. thats 3 times already. is this good for the baby ?

Indian Goosbery ( steamed or dry) every morning to have that extra Vitamin C.

Protein shake?
What do you think about this recipe I made up... 1/2 C frozen strawberries, 1/2 C water, 2 TBS Flax seed oil, 1 TBS concentrated pomegranate juice, 2 TBS super green food, and a scoop of whey powder. I am not a weight lifter. I am just a vegetarian.

Have you any unusual foods that you like for everyday?
Recently I discovered fennel bulbs being used in a healthy green juice drink, mixed with spinach, cucumber, agave and some flax seed. I have not made it yet, but it looks good.
Have you anything you really like to eat, like cherry juice, or quince paste or mesclun that is now a staple in your diet? Pomegranate juice, maybe? Or orange bell peppers to stuff rather than the green ones ?

To lose 3kgs?
It seems I have hit a plateau after walking on an average of 5km. My weight initially came down faster (lost 8 kgs) but after that it doesn't seem to come down. I have now changed my routine a bit - Usually I do walking in the morning but now I have started to do cycling (recumberant bike) in the evening to burn around 300 calories (35 mins, 15 kms I cover). This is my food routine :
Morning breakfast :
South indian breakfast such as idly, dosa (or) sometimes cornflakes
Afternoon meal:
three chappatis, one cup of rice, vegetable salad (cucumber, carrots, tomatoes)
(or)
two cup full of rice with vegetable salad (cucumber, carrots, tomatoes)
Dinner:
4 chappatis , sweet lime juice(or) some juice or fruit. 1 cup yoghurt
I want to lose 5 kgs so I want to change the afternoon/dinner to the following one:
afternoon meal:
one cup of rice, vegetable salad
(or)
3 chappatis, half cup of rice, vegetable salad
Dinner:
Only fruits - apple, pear, pomegranate,

That sounds so freakin' healthy! I wish I could eat as healty. (Hey I'm half East Indian, and that half of me is South Indian!) All I can suggest is continue eating how you are eating, and maybe cut down the ammount of food per meal, but have like 5 tiny meals a day. Also, try eating celary. It's very healthy, and it takes more calories to eat it then the amount in it. I hope this helps! Drink a maximum of 8 glasses of water a day as well!

What type of fruit was the forbidden fruit?
In the Book of Genesis, it's written that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. It does not say it was an apple. Was it an apple or some other kind of fruit? Judaism teaches that the fruit may have been grapes, figs, wheat, or citrons. Some researchers have said it was a pomegranate. Could the "forbidden fruit" have meant something other than an actual fruit or one that is no longer around today?

I think the whole story was a metaphor, because if there was a real tree of knowledge out there, then that would mean there was also a real tree of life (there were two trees---God barred them from the tree of life after they ate from the tree of knowledge) which would mean that there is still potentially a fruit out there that could literally induce immortality. I think that's unlikely.

The scriptures say that it was the particular fruit of The Tree of Knowledge. Therefore, I do not think it was one of the varieties we commonly know. How can you tell why fermentation has stuck, and how do you fix it?
I'm making some pomegranate wine, and it started out bubbling vigourously for about 5 days. Then, it slowed way down for no apparently reason. It kept bubbling slowly, but not as much as before. The specific gravity went down from 1.10 (to start) to 1.01. That tells me it is not done yet and it is still fermenting, but it has slowed way down. How can I tell why it has slowed down, and how do I fix it?

I don't think it's stuck. Last week I started a batch of beer, starting potential alcohol was 9.2%. Today it was 2.9%. i think the ending potential gravity was 1.025. If you've got 1.01 it's probably done fermenting.

It might be an acid level too high or low, but I think it's fine. Just wait more. :)

I have naturally black hair which i used to color a medium brown by bleaching it first, then dyeing it brown.?
a few months ago, i got sick of bleaching and just dyed it back to black. now, im thinking about dyeing my hair (again- ha ha i know, i can't leave my hair alone) a dark reddish brown color, but without having to bleach it. is there any brand of haircolor and shade i can use that will work on my hair? i dont want purplish hair or a bright red, but nothing too subtle either. i was thinking of using garnier's 100% color in intense auburn or nutrisse in pomegranate. any thoughts?

unflortunatly if you colored your hair black the only thing that will help is a lot of bleach or time. black is the hardest color to get out. and it will turn orange. If you try to completely bleach it out it will fry your hair. The orange would be ok if the dark auburn is what you are going for, other than that, you will have to give it time to grow out.

2.4 cups / 2 = 1.2 cups, and so on.

I, too, use the same SoftSoap pomegranate body wash. It was given to me as a gift, but I liked the scent, so I kept it. I thought it was kind of girly, so I never mentioned it.
I also use Lever 2000 and Axe's "Clik" scent, as recommended by a Christian woman on this very site.

cologne is D%26amp;G or Armani Code but only very very little of it. no one should be able to smell your cologne from across the room. you should only be able to pick it up when you're close.
